The mli is situated in Europe in the eastern part of France in the Vosges mountain range near the Alsassian boarder. By car it is an hour's drive from Offenburg, Freiburg, Strasburg, Basel and Nancy. The nearest city is St. Dié (train & airport), approximately three miles away. The mli is located in the old forester's house, La Grange des Aulnés. Freemasons erected the building in the typical Vosges-style in 1835.
The house lies on the eastern side of the valley of St. Dié above the hamlet of Coinches. It is in the national forest reserve Tête de Behouille with a secure SW site. The mli stands remote from neighbours as a solitary structure at 550 meters above sea level. The old forester's house is a very special estate. It sits atop a ca. 12,000 m2 large clearing with shade and fruit trees and is surrounded by pristine forest and adequate hiking trails.
You will find it has refreshingly unique atmosphere for many reasons. Remarkable is certainly the peace and, aside from the breeze whispering through the trees, the birds' callings and babbling of brook and spring, quiet. Directions

It is worthless,
that you rise early
and sit long thereafter
and eat your bread while worried;
(then to those of God He gives in sleep.)
